Associate Head of Division (Research and Impact)
Professor Louise Slater provides strategic leadership for all aspects of research, impact and engagement in Social Sciences. She leads the Division’s approach to maximising the quality and success of research funding and optimising the potential impact of our research through effective engagement with a wide range of partners.
Professor of Hydroclimatology at the School of Geography and the Environment, and Fellow of Hertford College, Louise’s research focuses on river flooding, drought, and climate extremes. She edits the journals Hydrology and Earth System Sciences (HESS) and Earth’s Future, serves as a Science Officer for the European Geosciences Union and chairs the Scientific and Technical Advisory group on UK Flood Hydrology.
