Visiting Professorships

Visiting Professorships

Departments may propose to the division that individuals should be considered to be Visiting Professors for a finite period of time, usually up to three years. Individuals nominated to the appointment of Visiting Professor will usually be outstanding in their field, with an established record and reputation.

Proposals should be put to Divisional Board, which meets in Weeks 2 and 7 of each term, and should comprise a letter of recommendation from the Head of Department, setting out the case for appointment and departmental support, a copy of the individual’s CV, and references. Proposals should be sent to the Academic Appointments team for submission to Divisional Board.
