Eleanor Pritchard

Researcher Development Coordinator

I’m responsible for the Division’s Researcher development programme, delivered throughout the academic year for doctoral researchers and research staff. I develop courses, deliver the termly Introduction to Learning and Teaching, and Draft your Elevator Pitch, and co-host the Pint of Ethics discussion series.

I’m also the division’s first point of contact for strategic issues around Researcher Development, convene our Training Leads working group, act as secretariat for the Division’s Research Staff Forum, and sit on the University’s Research Staff Working Group.

I am a mentor with the University’s Careers Support Network; in addition to the straight professional development its remit covers, I’m always happy to be contact directly by colleagues to chat about juggling work and family, and mental health.

I am actively engaged in developments in national policy and practice through, for example, membership of the South East Network of Researcher Developers (SERD), AdvanceHE, and the Vitae Researcher Networks Working Group.

I have a DPhil in Socio-Legal Studies (Faculty of Law) and, immediately before this post, worked for a Russell Group university for eight years as a lecturer. I’m a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and an Associate Fellow of Oxford's Centre for Socio-Legal Studies.

Outside of work, I host The Thriving Researcher meetups and blog. It’s  an online space open to all, where researchers share experiences, resources, and practical tips and tools.
