British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship Briefing

Trinity Term 2021 (TT21)

With Dr Daisy Ogembo, British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow

The British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship is one of the most competitive funding schemes for early career researchers. It offers three years of funding for researchers, who are within three years of the award of their PhDs, to pursue an independent research project.

The aim of this briefing is to allow participants to learn more about the scheme, the application and review processes, and critically what works. This year, the briefing will comprise of three pre-recorded presentations, followed by a live Q&A session.

Pre-recorded presentations
These will include:

1.    General background information on the scheme and information on the application and review process - presented by the Divisional Research Facilitator, Dr Claudia Grimaldo.

2.    Presentation by Prof Gillian Rose, member of the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship review panel for four years, who provides insight on the assessment of applications and advice on how to write a strong application.

3.    Presentation by Dr Daisy Ogembo, current British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow, who shares her experience of applying and what life is like as a British Academy Fellow.

These pre-recorded presentations will be made available on Tue 13 July, a day after registration closes.

On Tue 13 July, all registered delegates will receive an email with a link to Canvas, where they can view the recordings. Delegates are strongly encouraged to watch these presentations before the Q&A session, so that they can make the most of the whole briefing and the Q&A with the guest award holder.
